Program Committee

COMPOSITION: The Committee should have 2-4 members as they will need a representative at every FOG meeting. This will also help with finding suitable speakers. One member should be designated to attend the FOG Executive meetings to ensure consistency – this person will be responsible for reporting back to the Program Committee information relevant to their activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Program Committee is primarily responsible for drawing up a lively, interesting and appropriate schedule for the FOG meetings for the year – September-June. They will draw up the schedule taking into consideration the need for Business Meetings related to FOG special events and fundraisers, weeding days and other situations in conjunction with the FOG Executive and Senior Garden Staff. Show-and-Tell sessions are also popular and will utilize the wealth of expertise within the FOGs.

PROGRAM: The Program should, where possible, be printed and ready for circulation to the FOGs with the package, which is sent out in August.

TECHNICAL: The Committee is responsible for checking the technical requirements of the speakers, e.g. digital or slide projector, laptop computer; and for setting up the microphone and lectern each week. They are responsible for setting up and clearing away the equipment and returning the digital computer and laptop to a safe location – currently the FOG room in the Campbell Building.
